• Back at the Desk (Sort Of)

It’s been a while again since the last update. If I’m honest, I keep forgetting this blog exists half the time. Not for lack of interest—just life doing what life does and getting in the way.

That said, I have managed to get a decent little chunk done since the last post. Nothing massive, but definitely progress, which is what this whole Slowhammer thing is about anyway.

  • A little progress.

Another bit of progress to report, even if it’s been a little quiet here again.

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve managed to get a couple of Necromunda minis painted up. Unfortunately I didn’t grab any photos at the time, but I’m hoping to get a game in tomorrow night so I should be able to get a few pictures then and share them in the next update.

  • Two Weeks Later – Steady Progress Is Still Progress

It’s been almost two weeks since the last update. Between work and home life, hobby time has been limited — and when you’re tired, it’s far easier to scroll than it is to pick up a brush.

But the other night I did exactly that.

  • Picking the brush back up.

Progress has been slow lately. Work’s been busy and I’ve been struggling a bit for motivation, so there hasn’t been much to show until now.

  • Back to the Green.

Sorry for the radio silence — I’ve been in a bit of a rut lately. Nothing dramatic, just one of those stretches where motivation dips and progress slows. That said, I’m back at the desk now and paint is going on models… slowly. Which, honestly, feels very on-brand. This is Slowhammer after all.

  • Paint First, Perfect Later

Today I managed to get some solid progress in. I’ve base-coated a full squad of tactical marines and a squad of Tartaros terminators, including a centurion in Tartaros armour.

  • A Rough Day!

Not going to lie, it’s been a bit of a rough day on the hobby front. I don’t know if I just wasn’t in the right headspace or if I tried to move too quickly, but somewhere along the line I made a mistake.

  • Slow Progress

Despite my best efforts, life got in the way of painting yesterday. Thankfully, today I managed to make a bit of progress.

I know it’s not a huge amount of progress, but it’s something, and I’m really enjoying this method of painting so far.

  • A little bit of prep

I didn’t have much time today — work tends to get in the way more often than I’d like — but I did manage to get some progress in. The rest of the assault squad is now fully primed, along with a Contemptor Dreadnought, including all of his weapon options.

Tomorrow is shaping up to be another long day at work. That said, I’m hoping to squeeze in a little hobby time in the evening to get some pre-shading done and, if things go well, maybe even start laying down the green base coat.

  • A Change of Heart

After sleeping on it I wasn’t 100% sold on the previous attempt of green. So today I started with fresh eyes and a fresh brush and here are the results.

This paint scheme started off identical to the previous one however prior to applying the enamel wash i applied a heavy gloss coat to prevent it from staining the green too much.

I was much happier with the tone of the greens in this model and so i decided to finish the paint job by painting the golds and adding the decals.

So now being much happier I’m going to proceed by painting the full squad when my next painting session happens (probably sunday). But for now I’m going to treat myself and build a Contemptor.
